Eric is as a recognized leader in his field having been named as both a Super Lawyer Rising Star and as one of Florida’s Legal Elite, based upon several successful outcomes at the state and federal level.  Most recently, Eric authored the complaint on behalf of 34 clients who suffered over $186 million dollars in damages at the hands of Scott W. Rothstein’s pervasive Ponzi scheme.  After 27-months of litigation, the firm achieved the largest financial settlement in Florida history returning investor over 95% of their losses suffered to date.  Local news outlets described the settlement as a “huge victory” and a “landmark” lawsuit.

Through his career, and in addition to his representation of corporate clients including Walmart (land development and rezoning), CitiGroup (contested forfeitures in rem proceedings), and Anheuser-Busch (commercial misappropriation), Eric has been engaged to represent several high-profile individuals and athletes in a myriad of professional and estate planning issues.  Eric is routinely called upon to advise clients and corporate boards through internal investigations involving alleged malfeasance, fraud, and possible theft of trade secrets.

As an active member of the American Association for Justice and the Florida Bar Trial Lawyers section, Eric serves on committees aimed at improving the administration of justice at both the state and local level.  Prior to joining Conrad Scherer, Eric worked at the then largest Florida-based law firm of Ruden McClosky gaining valuable insight and experience in both complex civil and family law litigation matters.  During his tenure with the firm, Eric first chaired multiple bench trials and successfully advocated on behalf of such diverse clients as Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia), McDonalds, and ExxonMobil in a variety of dispositive motions.  Before Ruden, Eric clerked for the distinguished Judge’s Dorian Damoorgian (now of the Fourth DCA), Susan Greenhawt, and Mark Speiser of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit before ultimately interning with Justice R. Fred Lewis of the Florida Supreme Court.

As a business professional prior to achieving his law license, Mr. Rayman served as director of operations for Southern Granulations, L.L.C., wherein Eric successfully launched, developed, and merged a contract manufacturing company which generated gross revenues in excess of $3 million dollars and boosted investment capital return by 60% over 18-month projections.
