Maxine K. Streeter is a trial lawyer practicing in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, where she tries complex cases primarily dealing with business litigation and construction law issues. Ms. Streeter is recognized for her abilities to advocate in factually complex and legally difficult matters, a talent that was honed during her stint as a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida, where she served seven years in the civil litigation and economic crimes units.
There, Ms. Streeter practiced in the intricate legalities of prosecuting civil RICO claims, as well as federal class action litigation involving civil rights violations.
Prior to serving as an Assistant Attorney General, she practiced privately at the Fort Lauderdale firm of Stein, Rosenberg & Winkoff, P.A. Again focusing upon complex cases, she represented trial clients in the area of securities litigation and arbitration, acting as lead counsel in securities and commercial matters before state and federal trial and appellate courts as well as before a variety of self-regulating securities industry organizations including the American Stock Exchange, Inc.; the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc.; the New York Stock Exchange, Inc.; the National Futures Association; and the American Arbitration Association.
Ms. Streeter has acted as panelist, chairperson, and sole arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., and as Broward County Bar Association Presidential Appointee / Broward Bar Association Peer Review Council. Ms. Streeter also regularly serves as a National Institute of Trial Advocacy (“NITA”) faculty member for the Deposition Skills workshop. She is the co-author of Blue Sky Law: 1993 Survey of Florida Law, 18 Nova Law Review 45 (1993).
