Mr. Jack S. Kallus is a Senior Associate in the Firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. Mr. Kallus is a seasoned litigator representing corporate clients and individuals in a wide range of matters ranging from complex commercial litigation and class action litigation to fraud, civil theft, RICO, negligence, maritime litigation, consumer protection, and bankruptcy.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Kallus practiced at a prominent AM 100 law firm in their Fort Lauderdale office. Focusing upon complex cases, Mr. Kallus regularly represented Fortune 500 financial institutions and lenders in a variety of complex financial litigation matters in both federal and state court, including disputes under TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA.
Mr. Kallus honed his litigation skills during his tenure as an Assistant State Attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office. There he handled various aspects of civil and criminal litigation. He has litigated more than 100 bench trials and more than 30 jury cases, from prosecuting violent crimes to white-collared economic crime. Mr. Kallus was also appointed as the youngest member of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Mortgage Fraud Unit. He investigated and prosecuted crimes arising under Florida statutes ranging from simple grand thefts to highly complex conspiracies, identity thefts, money laundering, and RICO charges.
Mr. Kallus is a member of the League of Prosecutors, an organization comprised of current and former Florida prosecutors.
Mr. Kallus has been recognized as a 2014, 2015, and 2016 “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.
