Employment Law

What is Employment Law?
Employment law has evolved over the years, but its root purpose has remained the same: to protect both employees and employers in the working relationship between them. By definition, employment law is a collection of laws and regulations that dictate the terms and ethics involving relationships between employees and their employers.

For example, certain employment laws dictate the circumstances under which an employer can hire an employee, and under which circumstances those employees are allowed to work. Employment laws also create minimum standards for employees’ working conditions to ensure that they can work safely and avoid injury or harm in the workplace.

Fort Lauderdale Employment Law Attorneys
At the law offices of Conrad & Scherer, we have focused a dedicated team within our practice on Florida state employment law and federal employment law. With several decades of combined experience, our expert employment law attorneys provide the personalized service you would expect from a smaller, boutique firm with the resources of a much larger, national firm. Conrad Scherer’s employment law litigation expertise includes labor law, employment discrimination, employee harassment, wage issues, workplace injuries, whistleblower situations, non-compete agreements, severance negotiations, payroll audits, contractual negotiations, and more. We represent employees and employers ranging from medium-sized businesses to large, multi-national organizations.

The employee-employer relationship has always been a tense one, but it does not have to be tumultuous. South Florida’s significant tourism, shipping, event, and other seasonal industries add additional levels of complexity that are not present in many other markets. As a result, employment law in Fort Lauderdale and other cities in South Florida including Miami and West Palm Beach can be even more damaging if proper legal counsel is not present during an employee-employer dispute or disagreement.

Conrad & Scherer’s attorney team is diverse, with various attorneys specializing in a host of different niches. One of our firm’s most prominent areas is South Florida employment law, and we pride ourselves on offering competent and strong representation to all our employment law clients. We offer completely confidential legal consultations to help you determine the best course of action based on your case’s specific details. Employment law can be sensitive and complex, but we strive to offer guidance and clarity to help you navigate the employment law landscape.
