Position Overview:

The Fort Lauderdale office of Conrad & Scherer is seeking a partner-level attorney with a portable book of business ($1M+ minimum) to join our Complex Business & Commercial Litigation Practice. This is a unique opportunity for a highly accomplished litigator to contribute to a prestigious, fast-paced firm handling sophisticated, high-stakes matters. As a partner, you will have the autonomy to build and expand your practice while collaborating with a dynamic team on some of the firm’s most prominent cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of complex commercial litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution, including motion practice, depositions, discovery, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts in cases involving financial fraud, securities, breach of contract, fiduciary duty claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, loan and construction litigation, and UCC matters.
• Leverage your portable book of business to drive growth and contribute to the firm’s continued expansion.
• Collaborate with senior associates and the Marketing Department to convert high-volume inbound business development leads.
• Develop and implement creative case strategies in partnership with a team of skilled legal professionals.
• Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and persuasive advocacy.
• Stay abreast of evolving laws, regulations, and precedents in commercial litigation to ensure optimal case outcomes.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 15 years of complex commercial litigation experience in both state and federal courts, with a proven record of success in cases involving financial fraud, securities, breach of contract, fiduciary duty claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, loan and construction litigation, and UCC matters.
• Portable Book of Business: A minimum of $1M in portable business is required.
• Litigation Expertise: Full command of all litigation phases, including drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, managing discovery, appearing in court, and handling mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; superior legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while working independently and collaboratively.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: A client-focused, proactive approach to business development and practice growth.
• Professional Attributes: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a stable career history demonstrating commitment and reliability.
