Empowering Future Legal Minds: Conrad & Scherer’s 2025 Pathways to Careers in Law Day

Conrad & Scherer’s Pathways to Careers in Law program, launched in 2021, is a collaboration with Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law and Fort Lauderdale High School’s Pre-Law Magnet Program. The goal is simple: give students real-world experiences, mentorship, and inspiration to pursue careers in law.

On April 22, 2025, we proudly hosted our annual Pathways Day. The event offered students a full day of hands-on exposure to the legal profession.

The day began with a tour of our brand-new Fort Lauderdale office. After that, students enjoyed breakfast and conversations with Associate Attorney David Gunion, Partner Janine McGuire, CFO Matthew Mantro, and Founder Bill Scherer. Bill shared a memorable perspective on the legal profession, famously saying that running a law firm often feels like herding cats.

Later in the day, the Fellows visited the Federal Courthouse. There, they spent time inside the chambers of U.S. District Judge Raag Singhal. Judge Singhal spoke about his career path and emphasized the importance of perseverance, hard work, and integrity.

In addition, the students observed several high-profile hearings with U.S. Magistrate Judge Patrick M. Hunt. This rare opportunity gave them a firsthand look at real federal court proceedings.

This year’s Pathways Day reinforced our deep commitment to supporting future legal professionals. By partnering with Fort Lauderdale High School and Nova Southeastern University, Conrad & Scherer is proud to help local students take the first steps toward a legal career.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Most of all, we thank the students who brought enthusiasm, energy, and insightful questions.
