Retired Chief Judge Jack Tuter Joins Conrad & Scherer as Senior Partner

Conrad & Scherer proudly announces that retired Chief Judge Jack Tuter has joined the firm as a Senior Partner. His addition strengthens the firm’s ability to handle complex, high-stakes litigation across Florida and beyond.

Returning to Private Practice

Judge Jack Tuter brings over 20 years of judicial experience. He served on the bench in Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, one of the state’s busiest court systems. For the past eight years, he led the circuit as Chief Judge. In that role, he managed court operations, assigned judges, and guided judicial policy in Broward County.

Throughout his career, Judge Tuter earned a reputation for fairness, efficiency, and leadership. His return to private practice reflects his passion for the courtroom and his desire to help clients navigate complex legal challenges.

A Strategic Addition to a Trial-Focused Team

Before becoming a judge, Tuter practiced law at Conrad & Scherer. Now, he returns to the firm as it continues to build on major litigation victories. Most recently, Conrad & Scherer secured a record-setting $832 million jury verdict—the largest of its kind in Broward County—on behalf of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Minors’ Trust.

“We have the utmost respect and admiration for Jack,” said William R. Scherer, Jr., co-founder and managing partner. “His knowledge and insight are unmatched. We’re excited to welcome him back. He will play a key role in helping our clients succeed in high-profile disputes.”

Focused on Litigation That Matters

Judge Tuter will focus on commercial litigation, financial fraud, trust and probate disputes, and other civil matters. His experience gives clients an advantage in the courtroom. He understands how judges think, how cases move through the system, and what it takes to win.

“It’s been an honor to serve the people of Florida and the residents of Broward County for the past 20 years,” said Tuter. “Over the years, I’ve worked with countless attorneys, and Conrad & Scherer is the only law firm I considered joining.”

Tuter’s leadership and deep legal experience align with the firm’s mission: to deliver results for clients facing serious legal disputes.
