Elizabeth A. Scherer is an accomplished Partner at Conrad & Scherer, bringing a unique blend of judicial insight and trial experience to her practice. Before joining the firm, Elizabeth spent over a decade as a Circuit Court Judge in Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, where she presided over some of the state’s most high-profile cases, including the nationally watched Parkland school shooter trial. This case, the largest mass shooting case to go to trial in U.S. history, was broadcast live in over 10 countries and covered extensively by major news networks, solidifying her reputation as a skilled and respected judge.

Elizabeth began her legal career as a prosecutor with the State Attorney’s Office for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida. She quickly earned recognition for her trial skills, being promoted to the Career Criminal Unit, where she prosecuted violent habitual felony offenders. Over her 11-year career as a prosecutor, she served as first chair in more than 75 jury trials, including cases involving murder, attempted murder, armed home invasion robbery, and arson. She earned a book award in trial advocacy and was named “Top Litigator” on the University of Miami School of Law’s prestigious mock trial team.
